Mid Summer Update

…of course I said in the video that there is “about a month left until hunting season”. I meant 2 months. Season starts October 16th in Westchester.

Found this guy on the camera last week. I haven’t seen him around at all this year. Hopefully he pops out sometime before the season is over.

Hunting Update

It’s been a while since I put an update up. I tried to give the Cliff Notes version of the last 3 weeks.

Weekly Update – missed a nice 8 pointer

Well this week was full of more warm and rainy weather. It held the deer down a bit but I still seen plenty of chasing. Saturday and Sunday was a mix of tending bucks and chasing so we are definately hitting the 3rd phase of the rut and action should slow down next week as we head into breeding time. I am not sure how this will play out for opening weekend of gun season…

 

 

I am so tired after this many consecutive days of hunting I can’t even keep my train-of-thought, as you can see in the video.

Close call with a chasing buck

I went out yesterday and seen some great chasing. I was climbing down the tree to get ready to leave and a buck started running a doe down right around my tree. I was stuck 4 feet off the ground while these deer were tear-assing in circles around me (withint 10 yards. I couldn’t get my bow so I decided to grab my camera. Footage isn’t the best but the buck stopped right in front of me and gave me a nice pose.
