If you hunt in Westchester County, NY you probably already know that WMU 3S has a Bonus DMP tag program. Simply bring the head of a deer harvested in WMU 3S to the DEC check station. DEC will age the deer and document the harvest. The DEC will then issue a bonus either/or (antlered or antlerless) bonus tag. Easy as pie….
To qualify for a bonus tag you MUST tag your doe with a DMP tag that has 8888 in the docket number.

Westchester Check Station at a NEW LOCATION.
A check station will be operated at Amato’s Meat Processing at 121 Rt. 100 in Somers. The hours of operation are listed below.

New Paltz DEC Office
DEC Wildlife Staff will generally be available to check WMU 3S deer and issue “Bonus” WMU 3S permits at the Region 3 Office in New Paltz on weekdays (except holidays) from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. commencing on Monday October 20. It is strongly advised that an appointment be made by calling (845)256-3098 prior to arrival to ensure that staff are available to check your deer.

You can only get a bonus tag by bringing a doe in to the check station. The tag they give you is an either sex tag.
